Subscription usage in Claude Code is shared across Claude web chat and coding interfaces. Session windows, weekly limits, and model-tier caps can constrain requests independently. Run the /usage command in Claude Code to see your active restriction and scheduled reset time.

Context length vs plan allowance

A context limit refers to the token length of the current terminal conversation. A usage limit refers to your remaining plan allowance. Starting a new session or running /clear frees conversation tokens, but it does not reset consumed plan allowances.

Tracking recovery with your personal timer

Use our guides to find the official reset timestamp in your Anthropic account or CLI, then enter it into the local timer. Public reset events reflect historical community reports and do not replace your account's live balance display.

Practical check before resuming work

Before jumping back into a paused task, verify the active account, review the limiting window, and check the latest official reset timestamp. If your client reports an adjusted time, update your timer accordingly.
