Grok Reset Rules & FAQs
Verify product scope and target users for Grok resets
A Grok reset announcement often specifies a particular tier or interface, such as Grok Bot or web chat. Always check the published scope before assuming an event applies to your account. A Grok Bot reset does not automatically mean all Grok models have refreshed.
Public reset events vs personal allowance schedules
Historical intervals describe broader public updates and community observations. They do not constitute an exact schedule for your specific account. Inspect the limit message shown in your active Grok product before resuming tasks.
Record your personal Grok reset time
When Grok displays a specific reset timestamp under Settings → Usage, enter it into this page's timer. The countdown calculates against your local time zone and remains saved strictly within your browser. It does not assume arbitrary five-hour or weekly cycles. When the countdown expires, verify your quota directly in Grok.
API rate limits are separate from consumer access
The official xAI API documentation defines developer rate limits and billing. Consumer reset announcements should not be interpreted as changes to API token quotas or billing balances.
Checking official status and resolving limits
Inspect your current allowance directly within the application you use. While the status page helps investigate system-wide outages, operational health does not imply that an individual account's usage cap has cleared.
