The quick answer
A Claude limit reset is an occasional account offer you choose to use. Open Settings → Usage in Claude on the web or in Claude Desktop and look for Resets → Reset for free. Check the offer's affected limit and expiry before confirming. This differs from waiting for your normal Claude Code reset time.
What does a Claude reset restore?
According to Anthropic's reset guide, an offer can restore the five-hour session allowance or the weekly allowance. Read your particular offer; do not assume it restores both. The usual weekly reset schedule remains in place.
For example, if a session-only offer is available while your weekly allowance is exhausted, first check whether the weekly restriction would still block your task. This is a decision example, not a description of an offer on your account.
How to use Reset for free
- Sign in to the same Claude account used by Claude Code.
- Open Settings → Usage on the web or in Claude Desktop.
- In Resets, inspect the available offer, the limit it restores and any expiry.
- Choose Reset for free and confirm only when you want to consume it. It cannot be undone.
- Return to Usage and then Claude Code to check the affected allowance and whether your task can proceed.
The button may also appear in the notice shown when you reach a limit. You do not have to exhaust your allowance first.
What does No resets right now mean?
Treat this message as no usable reset being shown there now. It is not a promised future award or a timer for the next offer. Anthropic describes resets as occasional benefits for eligible plans; the documentation does not provide a universal claim schedule or a command to generate one.
If none is available, check the normal reset time or the options after reaching a Claude Code limit. Refreshing the page does not establish eligibility.
Why is the button missing in the terminal or mobile app?
The official redemption button is available on the web and in Claude Desktop, not in Claude Mobile or the Claude Code terminal or IDE. Redeem through a supported interface using the same account, then check Claude Code again. Account usage is shared across these interfaces; a different account's offer will not help the session you are using.
Expiry, billing and the next reset
An unused offer can expire at the displayed time, and downgrading or cancelling before redemption removes availability. A reset does not refund extra usage already billed or change your usage credit balance. Inspect the offer before using it and keep the ordinary weekly reset separate.
If access remains blocked afterward, identify which limit still applies using the usage and limit checks. Save a personal countdown only for an explicit recovery time; this site cannot grant a reset or inspect your account.
